  Don agrees that we must have taxes to pay for our government, but he also believes that we must have limited government. Government should not be growing anymore than population growth plus inflation.

In the Senate, Don will work hard to oppose any legislation to increase taxes or fees. Don will oppose any property tax increase. Don has proposed ways to help lower the fees and help speed up the process at the DMV. We can now do regular business with the DMV on the internet and at kiosks located throughout the state including AAA.

Don will continue to champion patient rights-to be sure that patients receive the medical attention they need. You have a right to know all of your health care options. He'll work to be sure that medical decisions are made by qualified medical personnel and not by insurance clerks or the government!

Don has been a consistent fighter for stable and predictable property taxes. The tax fight in Washoe County has proven that our current tax system is unconstitutional and need to be changed. Don has already requested a bill for the 2011 Session for property tax reform to help seniors from loosing their homes due to increasing and excessive property tax
